Gardeners always wonder, “Is this insect helpful or harmful among my vegetables?” We will take a brief look at insects in general and then discover the most common garden pests and ways to control them. We’ll also look at beneficial insects and their importance in the garden’s ecosystem. Instructor Ray Tiemann is a retired Lutheran pastor who earned his master gardener certification through the Hill Country Master Gardeners in 2019. In 2023, he received one of their Advanced Training certifications in entomology, which is offered through Texas A&M.
