As we age, so does our digestive system—but how do you tell the difference between a quirky stomach and something serious? In this engaging talk, Dr. Costilla will cover GI concerns in adults over 50: acid reflux, constipation, bloating, colon cancer screening. She’ll explain why symptoms appear more with age, which tests help, which don’t, and how lifestyle, stress and diet impact gut health. The goal is to empower attendees, debunk myths and encourage open Q&A. Dr. Vanessa Costilla is a gastroenterologist in Lubbock, Texas; medical director of Endoscopy at University Medical Center, division chief at UMC Gastroenterology Clinic, and associate program director at TTUHSC. Fluent in English and Spanish, she is passionate about colon cancer screening and IBD care.
