This class offers an overview of integrative medicine focused on evidence-based oncology applications: How complementary therapies used with standard cancer treatments improve outcomes, quality of life and well-being. Topics include nutrition, acupuncture, behavioral health and touch therapies. Dr. Daniele defines integrative medicine, explains its role in cancer care and discusses how weight management affects cancer risk, including the link between obesity and early-onset breast cancer. She reviews evidence for key therapies and addresses challenges and emerging research.
