Currently, there are more than two million women who have served in all branches of the United States military. These veterans include women who served in prior-era conflicts (World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf War I), as well as those deployed for the Iraq and/or Afghanistan wars. Our instructor will review the major military cultural tenets and examine women’s presence in prior-era wars. She will also be contrasting those things with women’s present, post-9/11 service/roles in today’s armed forces. Join us as we discover the courage, dedication and challenges of women in the United States military!
