This two-part course features a class followed by a tour of the Lawn Atlas Missile Base, one of 12 first-generation intercontinental ballistic missile sites around Abilene. From the drama of the Cuban Missile Crisis to the site’s current mission of bringing attention to Texas’ role in winning the Cold War, you’ll learn and see first-hand evidence of the bravery of Americans who served and sacrificed for that uncelebrated victory.
