John Louis “Jack” Minter, was a department store executive interested in architecture, travel and finance. Jack was a U.S. Army officer occupying Japan during World War II and received the Bronze Star. He fell in love with Dorothy McKelvy, who represented Albany when Charles Lindbergh visited Abilene on September 26, 1927. A scrapbook found on the shelves of an unrelated Abilene family sheds new light on the twists and turns in their lives during the war years.
