Dr. Anne C. Epstein will discuss the patterns of Jewish immigration to the Americas, Texas, and eventually Lubbock. She will delve into the establishment of Congregation Shaareth Israel and its development through the years as a center for Judaism in Lubbock and the South Plains, and its role in the greater Lubbock community.
Epstein is board certified in internal medicine and sleep medicine. She served as president of Congregation Shaareth Israel in Lubbock and has led services and reading the Torah during the years without a full-time rabbi. She has taught Torah classes at the synagogue and at Second Baptist Church, and has given many talks about Judaism to various organizations in Lubbock.
