Fredericksburg area rocks record over 1.2 billion years of geologic history. Hear the tale these rocks tell along the roads and public places in the area. Learn about the diverse environments that were once present along with the many fossils that impressed an early German visitor. Hear what the early settlers thought when they first arrived in the Pedernales Valley. Gain an increased appreciation for the abundant natural resources in the area that support the local economy and a thriving natural habitat for our plants and animals.
