The City Cemetery, Der Stadt Friedhof, is an important landmark in Fredericksburg. It holds the stories and secrets of the town’s history. Housing the remains of those who built and grew Fredericksburg, it contains noteworthy sculptures in the grave markers and signage. In this tour, local historian Glenn Treibs will lead the group through the cemetery as he selects key residents which reveal some of the stories of Fredericksburg’s history. Instructor Glen Treibs, M.S., is former president of the Gillespie County Historical Society and two years as chairman of the State Historical Commission.
