Professor Lou Densmore will discuss the biology of reptiles and amphibians, as well as various other animals that live in and around the Lubbock area. He will also show some of the venomous reptiles that are part of the educational collection in the Department of Biological Sciences at Texas Tech. Lou Densmore has been at Texas Tech for more than 35 years. His bachelor’s and master’s degrees are in biology from the University of Houston, and his doctorate is in biochemistry from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. His postdoctoral training was at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Since coming to Texas Tech in 1985, he has been major professor for 22 Ph.D. students and 23 M.S. students who have graduated in Biological Sciences.
