This course examines the early cattle drives through Texas
Hill Country after the Civil War. With cattle abundant and
money scarce, determined men drove wild herds north to
buyers in Kansas and beyond. They faced unknown terrain,
bandits, hostile encounters, accidents, and illness, making
the drives a dangerous and demanding adventure.
