Join us to discuss Lance Lunsford’s account of the media spectacle kicked off by “Baby Jessica” McClure falling into a well in her aunt’s backyard. The publisher, Texas Tech University Press, describes “Inside the Well: The Midland, Texas, Rescue of Baby Jessica” as featuring “gripping firsthand narrative documents” that don’t just recount “the play-by-play action of the rescue itself but also the lives of the rescuers, their triumph, and, for some, their ultimate tragedy.”
Instructor Katie Cortese is an author, teaches in the creative writing program at Texas Tech University, and is the faculty director for Texas Tech University Press.
