David D. Schafer will provide course participants with insights into Lyndon B. Johnson’s historic presidency during the 1960s when he was governing the nation from the LBJ Ranch near Stonewall, Texas. Through stories, descriptions, and media such as photographs and audio-visual recordings, Schafer will share this compelling history with attendees.

During his 32-year career in the National Park Service, Schafer served at Harry S. Truman National Historic Site in Missouri and Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park in Texas. Now retired, he researches, writes and leads trolley tours of historic Fredericksburg, Texas.
