All is not lost! This topic covers the recent science of preventive medicine for reducing the risk for some of the leading causes of premature death: cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Our best science also provides insights into how older people with chronic disease can still live with a strong sense of well-being. Just as we can work now to reduce our risk of dying prematurely from these diseases, we can also work now so that we have the resilience to maintain The Good Life even when disease does not spare us.
