This class focuses on how Tom Nichols, a local Lubbock author, broke into Hollywood, how he took his work experience, transcribed it into a fact-based novel and met with interested film makers. Soon we will be able to see his novel, "Color of the Prism," on the big screen. Tom’s police career spanned the era of the growth of the Mexican drug cartels and the accompanying war on drugs. He brings us the inside view of that war, the violence, deception and greed. Instructor and author Thomas J. Nichols earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona and graduated from top FBI and Harvard programs. A former Marine, he served 50 years in criminal justice from patrol to executive protection for presidents and prime ministers, as well as 29 years as chief in Arizona and Texas.
