This class offers an overview of Parkinson’s (PD). Attendees will learn about early symptoms and diagnosis, symptom progression, self-efficacy and resources that can support those living with PD. Discussion will include physical, spiritual, social, emotional and creative wellness endeavors that help quality of life. The instructor was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2017.

Lorraine Wilson

Lorraine Wilson, president of the Parkinson’s Community of Abilene, was a longtime educator (Abilene ISD, ACU). She was recognized in 2025 as one of 125 Remarkable Women, a nation-wide undertaking by Nexstar Media to honor the contributions women are making in their community. Lorraine is an Ambassador for the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinson’s.
