Ever thought about recording your family’s histories? Oral history is a great way to save stories that might not be preserved any other way. This class will guide you through getting started. We’ll cover easy ways to record, questions to ask, and how to preserve interviews. The Southwest Collection at Texas Tech has over 14,000 interviews with everyday Texans dating back decades. You’ll also learn about the archive’s holdings and how they can locate items within our collections.

For students arriving for the course at the TTU HSC School of Public Health, the exterior doors in the middle of the south-facing side of the building (door 23P) will be automatically unlocked from 20 minutes before teh class tme to 10 minutes after. If you arrive outside of that window, please call or text the coordinator Bill Minter at 325-829-0617 and he will come let you in.
